Archiv für Molluskenkunde is an international, peer-reviewed journal on all aspects of molluscan biodiversity. It preferably publishes original research papers of high quality on systematics, taxonomy, phylogeny and morphology of all groups of molluscs, both recent and fossil from the Cenozoic. Contributions of broad international interest on other aspects of malacology such as ecology and biogeography are welcome as well. Papers on physiology, parasitology, regional faunistics or those on non-Cenozoic fossils or pure biostratigraphy should be submitted elsewhere. Manuscripts shall be in English but may include an expanded abstract in a foreign language. Archiv für Molluskenkunde was founded in 1868 as "Nachrichtsblatt der Deutschen Malakozoologischen Gesellschaft". It has been published continuously since its foundation, making it the oldest malacological journal. It is edited by the curators of the section of Mollusca at the Senckenberg research institute.
